Today’s post is a series of pictures.
This first picture was taken at Osoyoos. Where normally you
could see lake and mountains in the background, in this picture there is only a
haze of white gray smoke. My brother John and his partner Jane are standing in
the foreground.

At Radium we finally left the rain and smoke behind. The
weather was perfect and we saw deer and mountain sheep as we walked around
town. At one point we sat on the grass to watch two males butting horns. While
the others could see the animals, I was happy just to hear the loud clank of
horns when the two came together. This second picture was taken looking back at
the archway on the highway just north of the town of Radium.

On the drive back towards Banff we stopped at Verdant Creek
and Numa Falls. Both of these were pleasant stops alongside the road with short
walkways. We had never stopped at either before but in our role as tour guides for
my brother we did so this time. This picture was taken beside Numa Falls. Lyle
had spotted evidence of a bear in the vicinity so we didn’t walk too far along
the creek.

I’m not sure exactly where the next shot was taken but we
were on the road between Radium and Lake Louise. I am standing in the
foreground at the edge of a bridge with river and mountains in the
background.

One of my favourite spots in the mountains is Johnston
Canyon. We walked to the lower falls and I was glad that I had my cane with me.
It was good to have the camera also so that I could include the following
picture.

In the last picture I am standing in the foreground at
Spirit Island at the far end of Maligne Lake near Jasper. Lyle likes this
picture with the clouds making the mountains look quite mysterious.
